I updated to Firestone SZ50s (size 205/55/16) a short time ago. When I did, the tramlining went away. After just a few thousand miles, I'm sensing its slow return. Thought this would be interesting to anybody tring to determine more about this.
Note, I have the SE. For the winter months, I run snow tires on the base rims in the base size (read less wide) and don't have tramlining then.
The snow tires, which are Gislaveds, have very soft sidewalls if that helps.
Is it sidewall stiffness, tire width? It's probably a little of both in combination with suspension geometry.
Dean is correct BTW when he speaks of suspension flex, etc. I'm just trying to add some info where it might help.
