engine woes........

Well, my transmission problem has turned out to be engine death. Upon inspection early this morning, the bottom of the engine case was cracked wide enough to but a fist through and at least one of the rods was flopping around hoplessly. I'm hoping that my full coverage insurance will eat the bill for me. If they don't, I might have to shop for a Yugo. Any suggestions on what kind of engine I should be asking/hoping for? New, rebuilt, used? For the sake of arguments, if it is covered by my insurance, what rights do I have in determining the quality/condition of the engine? I can't believe this happened, I honestly baby the car and have run nothing but sythetic mobil one engine oil in it. The most likely cause is road debris. The next problem I'm going to encounter is that I'm only temporarily going to be in Oklahoma until the end of the month. The work is being done by the guys at Bri Import Saab(these guys are honestly the best I've dealt with) and sincerly suggest anyone in the area getting work done by these guys. Should installation/compatibility problems be recognized soon? Keep in mind I'll be moving back to Kentucky and will not be able to go back to the dealer for any problems. And lastly, how much will a "reconditioned" title depreciate the value of my car?
TIA,
twflys
