The '98 would be less likely to suffer from any hidden rust spots.
Some minor problems with earlier models were also set straight.
But check out ownership record of the dealer's car. If more than one owner it might have been giving the previous owners nightmares!
But whatever you do, drive both cars, and don't let the dealer keep interrrupting you whilst you are driving. It's an old trick, that stops you from paying attention to certain faults. Keep music off and windows closed to listen for problem sounds. Then open window to listen to external noises.
'95 might have lower resale value when you want to get rid of it. But your pal might give you a better deal than the regular '95 price. I would say that £4000 or U$5500 would be fair.
