You did not state what mpg's that you got in the past which were better or how long they had been low.
When my car was 3 years old my daily commute mpg's took a nose dive and stayed low. Power was low and somewhat variable.
I also had the resonator starting to leak and rot. I talked to Brad about the issues and he suggested that a muffler could have a shifted baffle or other problem that was creating a restriction. I had a cat go restrictive on a Volvo and an muffler go restrictive on an Opel GT. So I knew about how such power losses feel.
I ordered a Sports exhaust as I did not want to put any money into a rust worth exhaust again. They replaced the exhaust and did a visual inspection of the cat converter backside at the same time. They checked out the major sensors and made a slight adjustment to the throttle postion sensor, which could not have affected mid throttle mpg's anyways. My mileage improved after that, but slowly. Perhaps the ECU had to find its way overagain. But things did improve and the only significant change was the exhaust.
At Brad's suggestion, I had them yank the turbo discharge silencer. No, I did not come up with that idea. He suggested a reroute for the PBC valve pressure in hose which I did do. You cannot do that with the MBC!! And we talked about my throttle body casting rework. it is great to have a dealer who knows his stuff and who like do do mods and talk about them.
One thing I would suggest, is checking your tire gauge against another. I had a real nice gauge for decades that turned out in its old age to be setting my pressures 3 psi low. So my stock 33 psi was 30. So there is a lesson there too. I once checked the pressure in in a truck and the very high pressures may have distored the spring in guage.
I assume that you have tried new plugs and cleaned the injectors and combustion chambers. One other possibility is that your engine stat is running things cool. Start a cold engine and as the engine warms up, the upper rad hose should not get slowly warm, but get warm with a sudden rush as the stat finally opens. That is easy to check out. Any replacement stat must be 89C. There are some 82C stats in the spare pool that you need to avoid!
Alignment ok, tire wear normal, vehicle coasts very well in neutral? Brake pads wearing evenly... no pads draging? On an open road after running for a long time without braking, coast to a stop, an uphill section really helps. Shutdown and secure the parking brake. Feel the brake rotors thru the alloy wheels. If you feel heat or diffences in temperure left to right then further investigation is required. There can be some warmth from the bearings.
If your parking brake lever has been moving up as applied or has needed adjustment, the brake shoes could be draging. Again look for heat. Feel the drum section of the rotors.
How is your on boost power? If that seems to be down, then the restrictive exhaust needs to be considered. If the on boost power is great this is counter indicative of a restrictive exhaust.
