Get some of the oil dripping from the bell housing and smell it. The engine oil smells like fuel because of piston blow-by on boost. Gear oil stinks like sulfer.
The trany comes out either way. So you will want to reseal the trany and change to Saab synthetic gear oil. And the clutch and fly wheel should be pulled to replace the rear seal. The cluth kit is relatively cheap. And while you are at it, it might be a good time to put in a new clutch cable as well. I did all of this at 110000 miles because of the engine rear seal.
You can let a minor engine seal leak go for a while. Some engine seal swelling addatives can help but only are delaying tactics. I found Mobil 1 leaked much less than Syntec ''full synthetic''.
The replacement rear seal is a different part. They will not be reinstalling the same problem.
