improving fuel consumption

Yesterday I tanked up after 6 days of commuting. I usually only get a week out of a tank (5 commutes). No change of tires yet. So it has to be the weather which is now consitantly mid to lower 30's in the morning. I know that I get great fuel consumption in the winter with the snow tires.
So the cold weather is a major factor. Perhaps also the increased volitility of winter fuels is part of this.
The SID shows some improvement, but not quite this much. The O2 trionic system will adapt to cold denser fuel. But the SID probably will not compensate for denser fuel. So the SID might not show an an increase in MPG's based on fuel density effects.
In the winter with the snows I can get 31 to 32 mpg on the commute.
Any other temerature related mpg observations out there?
