i'm an idiot. now that that's out of the way...i have the small, spare key to unlock the door and start the car, but the alarm is armed. i have no extra remote entry thing, we bought the car with just one. if i unlock the car, pop the hood and disconnect the battery (to stop the alarm) will it ultimately disable the ingnition? i tried calling the dealer but the lines are busy, and i'm more than an hour away. i figure i'd get a faster response on here anyhow. can the dealer where the car was purchased send me a new remote without me having to get the car there, based on the info in their computer?
