Weird battery symptoms (somewhat long)

Yesterday while doing some errands, I noticed that each time I restarted the 94 900 set, the battery seemed to have less and less power to turn the starter. On the last try, it became nearly dead, and I had to get a jump from a kind soul. This morning, (30 degrees)figuring it would be completely dead, it turned over nicely (although a little slow.) This almost seems like an intermittent charging problem, or an intermittent internal short in the battery. Any opinions?
BTW-- the positive terminal was somewhat corroded, although when I took it off to clean it up, it was only on the external surfaces--- the mating surfaces of clamp and terminal were clean. Cleaned it and the aluminum AC pressure lines below (which were EXTREMELY full of rime and corrosion) with baking soda paste, and coated everything with silicone anti corrosion paste.
Not sure what to do next, except monitor the symptoms.
