Your growl may be one of the serpentine belt pulleys going bad. This is a very common problem on the NG900. Two of these idler pulleys are cheap plastic and frequently sieze up. If you find this to be the problem, change them ASAP as if the sieze they will throw the belt and you are stuck on the side of the road. The pullys are surprisingly inexpensive. Usually the smaller of the two plastic ones fails first, about $35 part, the larger is about a $50 part. A good time to install a new belt as well.
What type/brand of pads were put on? Genuine Saab? Over the years on my Saabs I have tried a few brands, but have had the best luck with no squealing with PBR and Saab factory pads. No more asbestos in brake pads per US federal regulation=more squeaks. I doubt the rotors have anything to do with this.
Sure, bad struts can affect ride. More commonly on the NG900 would be a broken strut mount (on top of the strut), a broken spring, bad ball joint, or a bad suspension bushing. You'll have to investigate further.
