I just purchased a part from eeuroparts.com. I'm extremely happy with Eeuroparts, the part, and the price. Even the shipping charge (charged by Eeuroparts) to Canada was pretty good.

My problem is with those F*%$ing A$$holes at UPS. While I know they give great service and pricing within the USA, I grimace everytime I recieve something from them. It could be a $2 part and they'll charge $15-$25 "brokerage fee". And on top of that they'll try and ding you for duty (typically there should be none for most auto parts). So on top of charging you sky high brokerage fees, they often screw up the brokerage process by trying to charge duty on duty free goods.

I knew this was going to happen on my recent Eeuroparts order and built $20 brokerage fee into my total estimated cost before ordering. But I wonder if the e-tailers themselves know that UPS is skinning their Canadian & International customers.

Here is the breakdown on my recent order of a windsheild washer pump.

local dealer (Nova Scotia) $70 (CDN) + $10.50 tax = $80.50 CDN total

Eeoroparts washer pump $12.90 (US) $20 (CDN)
UPS ground to Canada $12.59 (US) $20 (CDN)
UPS Broker Fee (charged at door) $16 (CDN)
Tax $4 CDN

Total $60.00 CDN

I almost always have a good experience with Fedex (air or ground), who also have there own internal brokerage. Even the post office does a better job than UPS.

If any online parts retailer gave you a choice when shipping to Canada (eg. Fedex ground or UPS) they would get 100% of my business.

If anybody knows one let me know.
