Yeah, the Haynes manual isn't the greatest but its one of the few sources of DIY info out there... You can also subscribe to the AllData service (http://www.alldatadiy.com) for $25/year which gives you fairly decent information including recall and TSB information that Haynes doesn't provide. The diagrams are pretty basic though.
Then there is the Saab WIS (Workshop Information System) on CD ROM. This $250 product which some dealers refuse to sell to customers since it's designed for independent shops, is a real mixed bag. Yeah, it's pretty comprehensive, but the organization of the material sucks in a big way. There is NO index, and NO search capability! (Hello!! This is a COMPUTER!!) Also, it's got a really poor user interface that takes up the entire screen with a non-resizeable window, and it's just plain UGGGGGGLY. It looks like it was developed by the lowest bid contractor who didn't know anything about cars and how to develop a good user interface.
The old printed manuals are going away in favor of information on CD-ROM (like WIS). I just wish that the computer based products were BETTER than the manuals, and at this time, they are not.
