I've searched but still don't know the answer.

Can a Mann W917 oil filter made for Volvo 240 be used on a NG900? People have used them in classic 900s.

The NINES article makes no mention of this. They discuss W920/26 and W712/38. W920/26 is no longer available. W712/38 seems to be even smaller than the commonly used ACDelco PF53.

I've always used UK-make ACDelco PF53. However, yesterday I looked at my first ever MANN filter -- an air filter for my NG900. This thing is a work of art. I have never seen anything so beautifully made. A few days earlier I looked at Fram 8099 at a local store -- it's very rough compared to MANN. MANN seems to make really high quality stuff, so I am now interested in using their oil filters as well.

So, the question is: do I use the tiny W712/38 or the much bigger W917? Or, perhaps continue using PF53 or even UPF53?

What do you think?
