Well, if you know for sure that this is the right filter for the C900, and since the C900 will also take the PF-53 (all my friends use that), then we can conclude that the NG900 will take the Mann filter. As for a larger size filter, yes, I've seen people use the PF-13 (which I'm assuming is equivalent to the larger Mann) because it has the same exact mounting hardware as the smaller filter. Nines even recommends the PF-13 since you get more filter medium for the buck...

I've also used the UPF-53 (Ultraguard Gold) and even cut one open to compare it against the PF-53... The interior construction is far better, and the filter medium is thicker. The only problem is that PepBoys has stopped carrying them and I can't find any other auto parts store that has them!
