Yes. The NG 900's are far superior to the C 900's. I owned an '88 900S and had to get rid of it at 120K miles due to the auto not shifting into 2nd, even though the "mechanic" "fixed" it numerous times. I found out later that the auto trannies on the classics were not good at all. Prone to failure.

My '96 900S outperforms and is more reliable than my '88 ever was. Though I feel the '88 had a cozy, unique interior (maroon velour), the '96 is more mainstream, more sporty, and there are a lot of goodies out there to accessorize it. Since Saab's are known to go hundred's of thousand's of miles, the NG's carry the same and beyond reliability.

My '96 4-dr has 129K miles on it (all highway--I commute to work), and, knock-on-wood, have never had a problem with it. It is still in perfect condition, and has a lot of Saab upgrades that I installed into it since buying it new in '97 (SE sound system, wood dash/glovebox, console arm rest, K&N air filter, etc.).
