SAABers come to these BB's to share their experiences and to seek/provide help when there is a problem. Among all those messages of "one problem after another after another", there is a strong and consistent theme. These people love SAAB - even Ed G stays on despite his unfortunate experience. Like the national news on TV, you rarely see good news on the BB - people don't do that very often. You do see a lot of "bad news" that leads to "good nwes" as people get help with tehir problems and largely go away with a problem cured.
If you want a car for a "means of transport" as distinct from a "transport of delight", choose a Toyota or Honda or Buick or similar. They basically provide transport but are not renowned for their driving pleasure. If you want a "transport of delight", then SAAB is one of the strong candidates (as would be Porsche, BMW, Audi, Ferrari and similar). The problem is that most "delights" usually come with the odd letdown (you will find similar stories on the Audi and BMW boards). SAAB is somewhat unique in all of this as this BB appears to have, in my opinion, a greater sense of community spirit, sharing and a feeling of enjoyment in driving. SAAB's are quirky (and that is a source of some problems) but they can be a lot of fun.
