You're sure to get some different opinions on this, but I've owned a '95 900SEC V6 for almost four years now and absolutely love it. '95 has a reputation for being unreliable and high-maintenance as this was the second year of the NG900 (first for the convertible), but I think the key is if the kinks have been worked out by now and the maintenance has been kept up-to-date. I bought my car with 22K miles and it looked and ran like new, but for 6-9 months I was constantly in the shop with both minor and major problems. I was ready to drive the car over a cliff, but then somehow it seemed to reach a point where things leveled off and it has given me great service ever since.
You'll certainly receive a few notes advising you to steer way from the V6 (if it is one), but there are many happy V6 owners as well. You must make sure the timing belt has been changed at 30K intervals, along with the tensioner assembly. SAAB pays for the first 3, then you're on your own, but I think the new parts allow for a 60K interval. Like any engine, proper maintenance is the key.
Like others will tell you, owning a SAAB is a commitment, and it's probably even more so for early NG900's.
BTW and IMHO - this BB is an invaluable resource. Many of the regulars have armed me with valuable information when dealing with my mechanics.
Good luck with your decision.
