This is what is stated in manual for 205-50-16, and should also apply to the similar Z rated 55 series.
I am assuming you just put these tires on...I ran the 55 series for awhile until I observed a hole worn in the inner fender liner- passenger side, right at the engine crankshaft pulley cause by rubbing the inside edge of the tire when turned full left. Of course the inner edge of the tire was badly worn as well with a nice ridge in it. You should turn your wheels to full left and see how much clearance you have here. My tires were Dunlop D60 A2 which were a unusually wide tread tire for a 205-55-16 according to the specs.
I went back to the 50 series (original size), car handles better with no deterioration in ride (Dunlop SP 9000).
