You can put the 55 series tires on. Your speedo will read faster than you are actually going by approximately 2-4 mph at 40-80 mph (my guess). Other than that there will be no harm done. Your car will be an inch or so lower so you might scrape more going over a speed bump than you do now. You should find slightly improved handling with the 55s as apposed to the 60s. If you are looking for handling, go for 16 inch wheels and 50 series tires, that difference will be undeniable and you won't have any speedo or speedbump worries. If you like the current arrangement, keep with the 60s, maybe keep the pressure on the high side for optimal handling. There should be no real difference in price between the 55 and 60. Good luck.
