The people that now what they are talking about claims that when you get up to 2L engine size and above, the engine creates more vibrations, that needs to be dampened by balance shafts.
If only consumers would take a step back and realize that all this gadgets have a price tag both when buying a car and maintaining it.
I would gladly drive a car with just a hint of vibrations if I knew it would be thousands of dollars less in repairs.
The amount of vibrations that the shafts remove compared to without shafts is so little most owners wouldn't even notice.
