I just ordered a new DI for 260.00. Car was just beginning to run rough, I think I can make it for the next 3 or 4 days, if not I get to drive the TT, so it's not bad. (94 900 SE, 105,000 MILES). Dean and others suggested this was my problem, and most seem to go around 100,000 miles. Who knows, your new DI could last 100,000 too.

Clutch cables - I replace at 40,000 Miles, which I believe is average life for most. Usually the self adjuster is the problem, not cable breakage. I carry a spare cable with me and a long needlenose pliers and a 10mm deepwell socket with a short extension. There is, however, a way to "reset" the adjuster so you can keep on driving. You remove the 10mm plastic nut holding down the maxi fuse box, move it out of the way so you can grab the cable near the firewall and give the cable a firm tug. You will likely here a click from the cable which means the self adjster responded and you clutch pedal is back again. This will keep you going, I did this about 6,000 miles ago after "losing" the pedal and it still works fine. I plan to replace agian within the next 15,000 miles, maybe sooner than later.
