Just bought a 900 SET Talledega, 1998 with 102k miles on the clock, full leather interior, alloys, cruise, etc etc, a steal at £4000 (US$6,000)
The car has a full dealer service history (last service at 91k) but is due it's 102k service.
I don't mind getting my hands dirty, and propose the following to get everything to a sound basis:
Replace
Oil (Mobil 1 or should I use the SAAB stuff)
Oil Filter (I will adopt a 6,000 mile oil/filter change regime)
Air Filter
Cabin Ventilation Filter (may just clean this, have seen this recommended on some posts)
Coolant
Brake Fluid
Power Steering Fluid (should I use the SAAB stuff, or will standard PS fluid be OK)
Transmission oil (should I do this, it's not on the service schedule)
Spark Plugs
Check
Brakes
Suspension/Ball joints
Gaiters
Serpentine belt
Should I replace ignition wires, or does DI render this unnecessary, and are there any other straightforward preventative maintenence items I should consider. The car will be mainly used for long (100 mile plus) highway journeys.
