I have a 95' 900s 2.3l with 105,000mi. and figure it's time to change to synthetic oil (I want my swede to outlast me). the question is what do i need to do to change to synthetics - draining oil? flush system? use a different type of filter? you get the idea. I also plan on switching my girlfriends car to synthetics also, so any input on that would also be appreciated (it's a 96' dodge neon). Hey Dean, do you have any other brand reccomondations for the 5W40, I think i'll use that grade and see what happens. Are the thicker weight oils good if i push redline pretty much every time I drive, or should I use something a little lighter wieght?
question #2 is about removing the balance shafts. I have been debating on removing the balance shafts to eliminate the problem before it happens. Can this be done without removing the cylinder head? what things should I look for while I got the motor out and tore apart? Will i need any special tools for this job?
thanks for any help on these subject
