Update on Refueling Related Stalling and Question

I have posted several messages about this problem that remains a mystery. An otherwise perfect 97 900 SET stalls (sometimes quite badly, like this morning after having filled up last night. My last visit to the dealer was today. They found an "electrical code". Their supervisor informed me that they contacted SAAB and were advised to put a "ground wire from starter to intake", which they did. I don't think this actually solved the problem since the car is not yet back to normal. Sometimes it takes driving up to 50 miles before it becomes smooth again...
Since the problem is intermittent (but ALWAYS after re-fueling), I have made the following observation: Immediately after filling up (I stop immediately after the gas handle is automatically triggered off), the fuel gauge is about 1/8 inch below the max, and the car is running fine. After driving 3-5 miles, the needle goes up all the way and this is when the problem appears and remains until the car is driven far enough to lower the gauage. Then the car becomes normal until the next refueling cycle.
Here's my question: Does the fuel guage communicate with ECU in a way that can affect ignition and/or fuel delivery ? ie, if the sensor mechanism for fuel level is faulty, could that confuse the ECU and cause these problems? Does this seem logical or is it a completely crazy idea ?
I would really appreciate any input and help, since the dealer and myself continue to be confused. Their service so far has been limited to the registerd error code (which may be irrelevent to the problem) and driving the car and returning it back to me after is working well (until the next refueling cycle). They are reluctant to address other possibilities and hypotheses. I have written to SAAB technical team but still await a decent response. (note: DIC, spark plugs changed, TB cleaned, gas brand changed, dealer examined, drove, witnessed and ran diagnostics at least 4 times so far !)
Thanks and best regards to all
