Use a very thin/wide chisel and try to get it under the V/C. Don't try to lift/pry the V/C, just push the chisel in slowly.
The first times I manage to break pieces of the V/C, but have since learned not to.
The silicon that Saab is using at factory is very hard.
I never use any silicon when reinstalling the V/C, the reason for that is that silicon is very slippery and the plastic V/C is not sturdy enough. So when tighten it down, the silicon makes the V/C slip off the edge in the middle and more than half of the rubber gasket is visible from underneath.
This way the gasket seals at least for another 30-40K miles and than you have to do all over again.
The times I tried with silicon, the cars came back after about one month with major leak.
