So, was it you or someone you know who dropped it into 2nd gear at 60mph? I guess I didn't take the moron element into consideration when thinking about who was driving the Saab before me.
I'm glad I didn't lease my Honda from the dealership you worked at. Why would you think that manager of the used car dealership would be any less of a f*cking moron than the rest of the idiots that worked there?
Leasing a used car w/o a warranty might be crazy, but it's not insane. Saying that leasing a new car is crazy puts us at opposite ends of the spectrum.
I drive 8,000 to 10,000 miles per year, keep regular service intervals and garage the vehicle (and get it detailed before I turn it in). I turn in the vehicle after three years and pick up another car. Yeah, that's crazy.
In hindsight, I should have come to this site and done more due dilience on the car. But I drove it for about 100 miles before leasing it; I had the local Saab dealer go over he car -- they gave me a thumbs up.
I've got appointments with a couple of local indies to see what kind of prognosis/estmate they come up with. A large % of the dealers estimate is in the labor costs, so I'm hoping to get a better # from the indies.
