It does not state that you get 20 PSI, it states that you get 22 more HP. The dyno graphs show the same boost lag as stock, and there is no reason to expect otherwise. Perhaps the fuel cut it moved to 19 or 20 PSI.
It implies that it can be damaged with ESD. This implies some solid state components. There is 5V in and ground and the output signal. So one could, as the lump on the product suggests, install on one sided power supply op-amp with a couple of resistors and an fitlering cap. This could be used to create a linear antenuation of the map output signal, just like adding a resistor. But the op-amp will allow for the signal at zero guage pressure to be the same as stock. This adjustment of the DC offect allows the boost guage to read 'zero' when the ignition is on but the engine is not started. Otherwise that is the only advantage. So I don't see the value in spending nearly $400 to hack the MAP signal when the only advantage is making the boost guage look different from a resistor mod. I don't spend too much time looking at the boost indicator when the engine is not running.
For that much money, I hope that a mil grade op-amp was selected to deal with years of heat and cold under the hood.
This device might let the ECU adapt quicker than a resistor mod. Hard to know, but an adaption to a resistor mod is a one time event, so no big deal in any case.
The use of the oem type plugs and sockets is real nice. But the product is simply overpriced.
