Well I went into my car today and I think the operation was successful. Thanks to everyone who gave me tid bits of information, specially Anders and Dean.
The mission was accomplished. But what started as a 2 hour job in my mind, took a good 5 hours. Some hoses did not want to be undone. Some hoses were incredibly inacessible, let alone gettin to the clamps! I felt like a contortionist for most of the day.
I do have some questions for you guys out there who have done this before.
1. My new Stainless Steel Clamps seem Sharper than the car clamps. Should I bother to replace them? I did lined them with Duct Tape.
2. I purposely avoided using too much strenght when tightening the clamps. Did I made a mistake in doing so? They are pretty tight my hand, but could be tighter, I simply did not want to drive the clamp into the hoses. Considering how hard is to remove a hose without removing the clamps, I cannot envision them comming off. Perhaps someone out there knows better.
3. I noticed during my operation, that a section of the exhaust system connecting to the engine block is missing a screw!! This section can be easily seen from the front of the vehicle and it is directly behind the radiator of my 900 SET 1996. This must be the work of some genius who previously worked in my car. Should I be concerned? There are 2 other bolts holding this part.
3. I did not burp the system. I did fill the car, ran it a tad, refill. Will this come back to bite me?
Thanks all for your patience with the young Grasshoper.
