Many or most of us don't burn enough oil to be checking very often. With that terrible dip stick design, its hard to judge minor changes. I never have to add any oil. I change the oil 3x/year. Mostly highway miles.
I can't remember your year. Miles?
Any rear seal leaking?
Any sign of oil on the plugs? Any cylinder to cylinder variations in the deposits or color?
If the vehicle has been running dyno oil, perhaps the rings are sticking. If so, a can of snake oil that claims to free sticking rings can sometimes work very well. If not, you are out of pocket $3! I hope that this is the problem with your engine, so you can do a chemical overhaul.
With the number of in-operable oil pressure switches that we have had reported, please make sure that yours low pressure lamp does work. With oil comsumption, it would be nice to know that it works.
I have no idea how one would determine if a leak of this rate was from the turbo or an engine issue.
I hate to say it, but that oil comsumption sounds rather high. That would be around 4 to 6 gallons of oil per year for me. My changes take 3. That would be 7 to 9 gallons of oil per year total and would get expensive for a really good oil.
