Sorry about the car. How badly is it damaged? The retail value of a 1995 Saab isn't much, so for insurance purposes the car may be totalled. Do you have a copy of the police report? Was the other driver given a ticket? You or your insurance company should immediately contact the other drivers insurance company, who if liability is admitted will do an appraisal of the damage and the car, they will make an offer to settle the matter for either the cost of repairs(most all repair shops accept the estimate) or if the car is totalled make an offer for what they judgeto be the value of the car prior to the accident, they will take into consideration mileage and condition of the car, they will give you a low ball # that you should not accept under any circumstances. You will then counter offer based on YOUR apprasial of the car which is the cost to replace the car exactly as it was before the accident. The insurance adjuster has lattitude here to negotiate. Keep in mind some insurance companies are more accomodating then others. Was this character cited for leaving the scene of an accident, not withstanding he returned?
Good Luck
