Andy,as I posted earlier I helped mine out by setting the base idle higher. But all it did was mask the problem. I have an appointment with an independant mechanic who used to work at the Saab dealer on Friday. He has all the equipment and is sympathetic to the problem so maybe he can work some magic or at least locate what is wrong. My idle is so much like yours it is scary. It is to much of a coincidence not to be something actually wrong with these cars. My personal opinion after living with it these past months is that it simply has a weak idle whether due to a rich or lean condition or what is causing it I can't say. It simply is not strong or smooth at idle and the IAC works very hard to control it. There is obviously something wrong we have just not found it yet.
Speaking for myself please continue to beat the dead horse. I am really interested to see if you or I or anyone else can solve this. Also still waiting to hear about the ECM recall.
