Clarion CD changer skips

I have a 96 900SE with the Clarion DC605 in the trunk. I live in the country, so lots of bumpy roads, and the sucker skips all the time. Doesn't seem to have any "buffer" like many of the newer CD players have. Is the 634/635 model any better (ie- more resistant to skip), or do I just have to listen to the radio more?
Thanks, Jack
