based on maintenance records that came with the car when i purchased, the DI was diagnosed with a 'misfire'? at around 68k and the previous owner declined repair...i hadn't really noticed anything when i purchased..and i have 85k now...lately i have had an irregular idle in the morning and a 'bog' when letting off the throttle or downshifting, as well as coming to stops....
i found a new DI cassette on ebay for $200 ..and well, after reading up on irregular idle, plugs, etc, and associated potential probs with IAC 'muck'.. i cleaned the IAC valve with carb cleaner and oiled well, then cleaned the TB with a little carb cleaner on a rag and oiled connectors a bit, installed the new DI and NGK BCPR6ES-11 plugs gapped at .37 (the old ones that came out were BCPR7ES and the gap had run to .45!!)... needless to say, the probs are gone, startup and idle are excellent!!, glad this was all it took and nothing more serious....
just thought i would share...and gotta thank Dean for his brilliant posts (as usual) and other regulars that post on these topics...could not have done any of this without the help of many on this bb!! thanks, and keep the tips coming!
