I posted on this site earlier today... just wanted to keep anyone coming up on brake work on what I had done and what it cost.
$323.00 to do the following:
rear rotors (zimmerman)
rear brake pads (pagid)
front brake pads (ebc greenstuff)
grind the front rotors
replace the left engine mount (goes on older 900's around 80k)
The brakes are awesome! I didn't bleed the brake lines though... forgot to have them do this. Should I do this? I don't think that it has ever been done in the car... except on a major service?
It runs so well with the engine mount back on there again. So smooth... I forgot how it ran before!! I only replaced the left side because these seem to be the problem with automatics. One mechanic recommended that I do them all... but for the price, etc. I only did the left side for now.
Also, probably going to need to replace the hoses at some point. I don't want them to start going and then get stranded and have to call a tow truck... what do you think? What miles did you replace these in your cars?
97 900SE conv. 78k miles
(air box mod, removed silencer, k&N filter, Dawes MBC, SAS Swaybar, clear side lights, clear front lights, chrome strips removed)
I am working on the throttle body transition- have the dremmel but need the time. I am using the 1 inch circular thin tool... hope this is the correct one to use.
