hmmm... I read about the break in proceedures for the pads... take the car to a parking lot and do a couple of fast braking runs to work them in? I don't hear any squeeling from the pads initially so I wonder if my mechanic broke them in for me. <gulp>
What does breaking them in do? Wear off the initial layer and set them to the shape of the rotor better?
Gotcha on the hoses. I don't live in a cold climate (California), so I figured the heat of traffic would probably be the thing that will get to the hoses. I think that I can wait though... they don't looked cracked on the outside or anything.
retighent hose clamps?
