V6 "Clacking" or "Clicking"

Funny thing happened after I responded earlier to Jim's post regarding the V6:
My baby is hibernating for the winter in the garage, and I start it up every week or so and let it run for 10-15 minutes. Today I started it up and it bagan making a pronounced "clacking" or maybe a "ticking" sort of noise that goes with the revolutions of the engine (I'm no mechanic, so please excuse my terminology). It has never done this before, and since it's been cold I thought maybe it just needed to circulate the oil and warm up a bit. I drove it around the block and let it run for a while, but it stayed the same.
Is it possible I've caused damage by letting it sit for 3 months or so and just start it up now and then? Could it be that it's just cold and it needs to run for a few days? Maybe it's a bearing somewhere? Waterpump?
I change the oil every 3K and have totally babied the car.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have a bad feeling this might be something serious - I knew I shouldn't have praised my V6!
