to live with these damned things. My 99 9-3 was a real ball buster in the few months I had it...in the shop more than in my driveway. It checked out good when I bought the damn thing. NOW THAT IT IS DEAD AND GONE, my trusty old 94SE is still plugging along with three times as many miles on it, but it now too has begun to need a regular diet of auto parts. Still has original front suspension, A/C, transmission, clutch and rear brakes, not that any of this stuff isn't about shot, but I refuse to put much money into a car I won't want to be driving much longer.
I love the hatchback but am losing my enthusiasim for these cars and am tired of weekend repairs. There are just too many decent cars out there today that are less trouble, easier to work on and that parts are cheaper for. And I'm tired of the "turbo tax" (appetite for premuim gas and synthetic oil).
I even drove the new 9-3, but it is kinda ..... yawn. Maybe I will buy a Dodge Ram with a hemi and put a towing rig on it so I can haul some Saabs around to help pay for the gas.
Just kidding...guess I will always have to own a Saab so we can share in each others misery. Bottom line...I would love a new 1993 black 900C 5 speed turbo coupe.
