First of all, never go through the horrific experience of an automatic car wash with a convertible. The normal one will not get the soap out of the top and will damage the rear window seal. The touch less is even worst. It will get lots of water in the car from the high pressure sprays and will damage the seals and the top during the drying part. So, DO NOT GO IN THERE. I went through that s**t myself and I was crying.
Secondly, don’t worry about the condition of the top. It will go away in the summer, in the worm weather after you open and close the top a few times. I get the same thing and there is no problem. What you should worry about is the seal of the rear window. I do not know your model car 95-96 or 97-98. The top fabric and construction is different. The problem is on the 95-96 models where the top unglues itself from the window and the material shrink and gets loose. That’s when you start to get water inside and damage the top. I had this problem and fixed it. There is a SAAB bulletin on the issue. Let me know if you need it. You did not post a picture of the rear window so I cannot see what model you have and the condition.
