yes, this has recently happened to me.

i changed the filter, and now it cranks for a few seconds before starting. it alwaays starts and runs fine.

i examined the filter and lines, and discovered that when i retightened the lines, i twisted one to the point where it had a slight leak from the connection of line-to-banjo-fitting. straightening it out did not help. hose clamp (x2) did not work. i have a new fuel line on order. ouch.

i'm hoping this leak (which results in a pressure drop) is my problem. if not, i'll have to think further on the fuel pressure regulator suggestion.
