Did you find that the drilled rotor had an advantage with cold braking in everyday city traffic? Assuming you drive calmy at times? I have been assuming that the reduced friction surface area could reduce performance on cold brake components.
I think that the drilled, dimpled, slotted pads would help with steam float with wet pads too.
The ATE power slots might be a good compomise. These have small cast-in grooves. Almost no loss of thermal mass of the rotors and no added costs compared to such details machined in. I have these on the 97Passat diesel. No noise, but with a diesel engine, its hardly a silent environment.
