Zimmerman's & EBCs Posted by SLAAB [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Q? for Zimmerman Cross Drilled Rotors Users, Gabor, Mon, 31 Mar 2003 10:18:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm running Xdrilled Zimmermans at all 4 corners with EBC Greenstuf up front and Pagids in the back. Also using Motul RBF600 DOT4 and SS flex lines.
EBCs truly do reduce brake dust and my rears are now more prone to getting dirty than the fronts.
Regarding braking, I'm finding Jekyll & Hyde behavior from my brake setup. When cold, the brakes perform like stock. But once they heat up, they grab very seriously and a bit of roaring noise is audible.
The level of improved braking has really brought to light the steering rack mount design defect and a rack brace is on my list of upgrades. There is a small level of wandering in the steering under extremely hard (threshold) braking that is not enough to be dangerous but enough that it needs to be addressed.
Because I have aftermarket rims, the discs and green pads are very visible. Unfortunately as Dean mentioned in his prior posts, the discs are made of iron including the hats. This also means that the unswept portions of the discs are now rusting and also visible. It is by no means enough to drive any sane person to go hunting for a floating disc upgrade.
My upgrades are listed on the link.
