forget the 90 degree thing
Many know how to tighen plugs by feel, and the feel for a new plug is totally different than a used plug being replaced after re-gapping and inspection. If you used the 90 degree thing on a used plug you would be in trouble. A new plug has a crush gasket, and when a new plug is intalled there is during the end of the tightening a phase were that washer is crushing. Knowing what a fastener is doing by feel is something that takes a few years and an understanding of whats happening. As a fastener tighens up, you feel the torque ramping up in a certain way as the fastener is turned. I suggest that you get a torque wrench and use it as a guide to recognize these things. You should have a torque wrench in any case for the wheel bolts, mine is always in my trunk.
The spec for the plugs is 20 ft-lbs and thats it. Put some silicone grease on the spark plug tops and/or the rubber bits on the DI. Use some loctite blue on the 4 DI torx screws and don't overtighen them. The loctite will last and does not need to be used every time.
Vac or blow sand and dirt out from the base of the plugs before you remove them.
