The new style rad hose was designed to avoid the problems that you have. Strange that you were sent the wrong one.
The plastic panel is very brittle, tin snips? It must be busted! :)
If you trim 1/2" off the turbo end of the hose the interference with the AC lines will be minimal.
You forgot to mention to remove the ambient air sensor as well as the washer lines.
I don't recall and issues at all with block and aligning things, maybe they were dealt with in stride and I did not take any notice.
Yes on the red wire.
Don't recall any issues with power steering lines.
Don't worry about the oil cooler. You are only on boost for a few seconds at a time.
I found that with the lights out I was able to get as hose clamps nicely that way.
You will notice over time that the engine is much more responsive. Today you were hammering it. You will see that it surprises you and is a constant pleasure.
So your hands are scraped and cut up? ENJOY!
