Try a large local building supply place in your area. It's Schedule 20 for drainage work in 3" that you want. Not real easy to find. Not familiar with what you are attemping but grinding down the Schedule 40 PVC would be a LOT of work. It's actually a disfferent material too, very brittle compared to the drainage material.
