Silencer Removal success!

Well all,
I have gotten back from my mini-trip (just down the Thruway). I will post on my impressions of the Cooper tires seperately tonight or tomorrow (when I should be able to also post the pics).
I just came in from the garage though, and I successfully removed the turbo 'silencer.' It was oily as people have described. I pried the tabs up and removed the whole thing in one piece (well, one tab broke) with pliers. It was a little more effort than I thought (I had done this on my old Eclipse), as the clamp was not readily accessible, and the AC lines are somewhat in the way. But not difficult at all. This one really did take maybe 20 minutes. No driving impressions in order to keep the engine cool for further projects!
Tonight or tomorrow will be the TBTransitionC and airbox mod. I finally found the correct 3" thin-walled PVC at a Lowe's. I had tried Home Depots (2 of them) and Chase Pitkins. Lowes had it! Do I wrap it with pipe insulation? I may also change the oil (flush?, then use fully synthetic if I make it to the store - dealer is probably using semi-synthetic?!) and hopefully I can get the speaker upgrade I have, that hasn't worked since the day she came home with me!
Thanks for all the posts that have helped and amused!!!
