I've been living with the ce/cg lights for awhile. Used ot be only in cold weather that I would have to drive a bit, the restart in order to get into 1st gear. ('98 900s 123k miles)

Now, even with the hot weather, I have ot go through this routine every morning.

Took it into the dealer because I started getting a CE light even when CG not on. They replaced an O2 sensor, and said that no more codes were coming up on the computer.

After a day or two, the CE/CG routine started again, so I took back to dealer and told them that I thought is must be the saftey switch, as I've read on this forum. They just reset the computer (and charged me $50), and said it should be ok. But, next moring, same old thing.

Now the dealer says that I probably need to replace the whole shifter package for $500+.

Does this sound right? I thought the Saftey switch repair was only about $250.

Any input appreciated.
