Yes, these symthoms sound like your the Neutral safety switch is your problem. The neutral safety switch itself costs $264.80 USD at eEuroparts.com
The dealer labor for installing is another $250 USD. A independent Saab service place would probably be less money.
I have had the same check engine/gearbox lights occasonally on my Saab, usually in cold weather. So far moving the gear selector through the entire range repeatedly has temporarily 'fixed' the problem, and the check engine/gearbox lights have reset themselves on the next start-up. I am sure that sometime soon I will need to have the neutral safety switch replaced or attempt the replacement myself.
