Have you had any recent work done on the cooling system?? New hoses?? Water pump?? T-stat?? 30K with coolant change? If so, your car may be coughing up air bubbles. The NG has a reputation for being a real PIA to burp after any sort of work done to the system. Once in a great while, when I took my '95 SEt to the dealer (before the warranty ran out) she would burp up a bubble and the "low coolant" warning would come on. I've never had that problem since taking my 900 to ConnTech (Mike does a really great job with all Saabs, but especially my high mileage NG.)I wouldn't do any serious driving before I had the cooling system checked out. If you overheat, not only could you blow a head gasket, you could also blow up your turbocharger (not to mention worst case scenario, crack the head or the block.)
