1997 900SET 5sp 81,000 mi:
Replaced clutch cable about 2 weeks ago - could not get car into any gear. The cable made things fine, temporarily. Drive car locally and seems that the longer I drive it the more difficult it is to get into gear. Had to milk it home about 10 mi avoiding the need for 1st as it would not go in. I have let it sit for a week - too frusterated to even look at it.
I bought the car used 2 1/2 yrs ago with 59,000 mi. Shortly there after had similar problem. Took it to Rocky Mountain Garage (supposedly Saab experts) who charged me about $1,200 and said they rebuilt the tranny. A year later I take the car back there b/c it won't shift, so they replace the clutch cable (incorrectly - they did not remove the old grommet through firewall before putting the new one in).
Now I have a similar problem. It cannot be the clutch cable (it was replaced less than 1k mi ago). I know it could be clutch, linkage, or tranny itself. Any suggestions??? Both dealers in the area have pissed me off.
