CMP sensor is sort built into the function of DI casset Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Cam Shaft Position Sensor, Mark Gee, Sun, 31 Aug 2003 10:54:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
When DI cassette and or spark plugs goes bad, that fault code could be logged because of the misfire.
It is the same scenario as with the knock sensor. The system have a fault code and read out specs of the knock sensor, but no physical sensor to replace (just the whole DI).
The 2.3L NA cars have a seperate CMP sensor located inside the ignition distributor and a CKP sensor mounted on the side of engine block together with a seperate knock sensor on the engine block.
DI equipped Turbo cars only have the CKP sensor in engine block, all the rest is built into the cassette.
