you must just need a type-r sticker to make your car faster! (joke)
i happened to enter a race at redlight in downtown philly (columbus blvd.) saturday night. my music (interpol's cd) was playing rather loudly and i didnt hear anyone reving their engine. it was three lanes and in the far lane was a riced out pickup truck (why bother?), middle lane was a late model honda accord and myself in the far right. they totally beat me off the line because i didnt know they wanted to race however i punched it and once my turbo had spooled up i passed them all (while in 2nd gear). of course, i had to slam on the brakes to make my right turn.
i bring my engine around 3500rpms and drop my clutch. for me, my tires arent that great so anything higher and my tires will spin. i shift just under 5000rpms. everything in my 98 900 2.0 turbo is stock.
start off racing some dodge neons (w/ type R stickers) than move up a class to eclipses (w/ type R stickers) than try some a4s 1.8t quattros (w/ ivy school license frame).
